Petra = The Rock
This is not because I’m the lecturer of Petra Christian University…. but I have just learn about something this afternoon … in my daydreaming ….. oh,no ….. I’m must be drunk because of the Poetics of Space by Gaston Bachelard. ( perhaps… yes…but Petra… right now I’m not missing you. So ….Sorry…….I’m not in the mood of going back teaching now…..hehe.)
Do you know that the word Petra means the rock? What kind of rock is it? I know that last time I have a friend which is as stubborn and has a very tough personality and really ……like a rock. If it is in positive way, I really don’t mind. But my friend’s attitude has made a lot of people suffer. My friend is as stubborn, as tough, and as strong as… really a ROCK !!!! Nobody can really touch my friend’s heart. But you know ,its the philosophy of nature……
Do you know that water can make hole in a rock? The dripping water… yes, it really can touch the rock, until it makes hole through it…… The dripping water which touch the rock has made hole on it and let the light come through it.
Actually.. what am I going to say? Do you know what, sometimes we are not patient enough if we have a friend or relative … or anyone that you know that being as stubborn or as tough as my friend. Whatever tough is “the Petra”, The gentleness of water can melt it down…. what you really need is patient, love, and care.Because I saw it from my previous experience. My friend is turning, from a stubborn person to become a person who has a lot of love and attention to others.
Like my motto in life…. three things that I always mention in my life. Love, Faith, and Hope. I believe that faith and hope will always guide me to find the things that I love. And to see it, is only about live patiently in faith and see it in hope.
